What I work on

What each one looks like, the method behind it and what it is not. How fees work is on its own page.

  • A laptop on a white desk with a cane chair and the shadow of a window on a peach wall

    Panic attacks

For adults whose panic has started to shrink their week. We learn what panic is, then practice the sensations on purpose, a little at a time, and see what happens when you stay with them. The method is CBT with interoceptive exposure. It is not breathing tricks to stop an attack.

    • CBT with interoceptive exposure

    • Short practice tasks, agreed in advance

    • Your clinician sets the pace

    Ask about this
  • A bright living room with a gray sofa, a black floor lamp and abstract paintings

    Health anxiety

For adults who check their body, search symptoms online or ask for tests and reassurance, and still are not sure. We look at what the checking does and practice doing less of it, a step at a time. The method is CBT for health anxiety. I do not examine or diagnose a physical condition.

    • CBT for health anxiety

    • Fewer checks, planned together

    • Your doctor stays in charge of your physical care

    Ask about this
  • A glowing table lamp on a dark wooden dresser beside a slatted wall

    OCD

For adults with unwanted thoughts and the rituals that follow, whether you can see them or only do them in your head. Exposure and response prevention (ERP) is the first-line treatment for OCD. We build a ladder of triggers and practice facing them without the ritual.

    • Exposure and response prevention (ERP)

    • A ladder of triggers, built with you

    • Mental rituals count too

    Ask about this
  • Close-up of leather and woven cushions on a sofa in a sunny room

    Everyday worry

For adults whose worry runs all day over work, family or what might happen. We map what you worry about and what you do about it, and practice letting some of it be. The method is CBT. It is not being told to stop worrying.

    • CBT for worry

    • Planned practice between sessions

    • A plan for the harder weeks

    Ask about this
  • Sunlight through sheer white curtains beside a patterned drape

    Working with your doctor

Anxiety can have physical causes, and some people take medication alongside therapy. I do not prescribe. With your written permission, I can write to your doctor or prescriber so your care fits together.

    • I do not prescribe medication

    • Letters only with your written permission

    • Your doctor decides about medication

    Ask about this
  • A young couple sit on a sofa listening to an older woman in a rattan chair in a plant-filled room

    A partner or family session

For the people who live with the worry, who are often asked the same question again and again. In one session I explain what reassurance does and what to say instead, with you in the room. It is not couples therapy.

    • Only with your agreement

    • You attend too

    • Booked like any other session
